Our Story
Jessie Jones, Managing Director
Growing up with her parents buying, refreshing and then selling businesses since age 5, Jessie has been fortunate to experience the highs and lows of the business scene. This business experience from a young age particularly sparked her interest in marketing and media.
After studying Media at Otago University Jessie then commenced work for Fairfax Media where she soon learned that many local businesses were really struggling with their marketing. During this time she was also getting quite well known for helping people with their social media. Fairfax gave her the opportunity to get to know people and businesses well in the region and this stemmed the idea of working in marketing and social media.
Late in 2015 Jessie decided to go for it starting her business Mckenzie Media - named after her late grandmother - Ruby Mckenzie. Ruby was a hardworking woman who would get on with it no matter what “it” was. Jessie’s mother was just the same and growing up with both of these strong role models to look up to has resulted in Jessie having a similar approach.
Jessie is really passionate about helping people with their businesses and has a particular eye for detail which is why she enjoys design so much. While Mckenzie Media is still a relatively young business, Jessie is incredibly grateful to be doing what she loves, working with fantastic clients and bringing brands to life everyday.
